The Sets Program( SSP) is a Construction Skill Queensland (CSQ) funded initiative designed to help eligible workers gain targeted, nationally recognised skills aligned licensing requirements.For the waterproofing stream, the program equips participants with the knowledge  and practical expertise to apply, access, and maintain waterproofing system across a range of building and construction contexts.

  • This program is recommended for participants who are:

   - Tradespeople seeking formal waterproofing qualifications
   for licensing

   - Builders, tilers, and renovation specialists wanting to                 broaden their services

   - Self-employed contractors needing to meet QBCC licensing    requirements

DURATION

  •  Training – combination of face to face, online and simulated practical or on the job training under the direction of a workplace supervisor
  •  Assessment – Theory assessment and assignment (online)
  •  Self-paced (theory must be complete prior to practical training)

START DATE

01st August 2025 to 31st July 2027

FEES & FUNDING

  • Fee for Service  - $3,600.00 
  • CSQ Funded Students Contributions - $3,350.00
  • Participant Co -Contribution Fee - $250.00 (payable before commencement)

The CSQ subsidy covers the majority of training costs, ensuring affordability for eligible workers.

This course is delivered under the Skill Sets Program (SSP), a Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funded initiative aimed at supporting eligible workers to gain nationally recognised skills aligned with industry licensing requirements. For eligible participants, a small co-contribution fee applies, with the majority of the course costs covered through CSQ funding.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge to carry out waterproofing work across a range of construction settings. Through a combination of practical and theoretical training, learners will gain experience in preparing surfaces, applying waterproofing systems to internal, external, and below-ground areas, and using the correct tools, materials, and techniques. The course also covers how to assess waterproofing work and carry out remedial repairs, supporting participants in meeting industry standards and licensing requirements.

This program is ideal for tradespeople or workers seeking formal waterproofing qualification for licensing purposes, builders, tilers, and renovation specialists looking to expand their service capabilities, and self-employed contractors aiming to meet QBCC licensing requirements.
