let us help you!
Our team at NICS has a wealth of experience in the Wet Trades sector, and its our passion to help grow the industry. We are eager to showcase everything this industry has to offer.
We’re excited to invite Year 11 & 12 students to participate in the
2025 Try-A-Wet-Trade Workshops, an incredible opportunity to explore hands-on career
pathways in the construction industry. Hosted by the National Institute of Construction Skills (NICS), these workshops provide students
with practical experience and a clear pathway into an apprenticeship.
Try-A-Wet-Trade Workshops are an engaging and hands-on experience designed to introduce students to the exciting world of wet trades.
These workshops introduce students to the five wet trades:
- Painting and Decorating
- Wall and Floor Tiling
- Solid Plastering
- Wall and Ceiling Lining
- Construction Waterproofing.
Why Should Year 12 Students Attend?
Hands-On Experience: Students get a real taste of the wet trades through interactive and engaging activities.
Pathway to Apprenticeships: After attending a workshop, students can enrol in the CSQ-funded Get Ready Program, where they:
- Complete three units of competency toward their apprenticeship.
- Participate in one week of work experience in their chosen trade.
Employment Opportunities: Following the program,
students have the chance to secure an apprenticeship straight from school..
