Gold for Xai Hang at WorldSkills Australia 2025
We’re proud to share that Xai Hang, an apprentice supported through the National Institute of Construction Skills (NICS), has taken home the gold medal in the Painting and Decorating category at the 2025 WorldSkills Australia National Championships & Skills Show.
Held in Brisbane, this national event is a celebration of technical excellence, bringing together over 600 of Australia’s most talented young tradespeople. For Xai, it was a chance to showcase the skill, precision, and professionalism he’s developed throughout his training journey.
Xai’s success is a credit to his commitment to the trade and the steady effort he’s put into honing his craft. We’ve been fortunate to play a part in that journey, providing the training environment, guidance, and resources to help him grow — not just in technical ability, but in confidence and career readiness.
At NICS, we aim to equip every apprentice with the skills and mindset they need to thrive in the real world. Xai’s win is a proud moment that reflects what’s possible when talent meets opportunity.
Achievements like this remind us why vocational training matters — not just for individuals, but for the future of our industries. We congratulate Xai on an outstanding performance and look forward to seeing where his career takes him next.
Well done, Xai — from everyone at NICS, we’re proud of you.
